Nichols plans to keep a continued and relentless focus on customer success, which will include a journey-based approach (awareness to advocacy) and optimizing the customer journey across paid, owned, and earned media channels.
When discussing his approach, Nichols stated that he plans to “increase the adoption and impact of data-driven marketing using a four-pronged approach of data, technology, people, and processes. Equally important is how things are achieved – through clear and consistent communications, collaboration, transparency, embracing differences, inclusion, and fun!”
Most recently, Nichols led Data-Driven Marketing at SAP. While in the role, he scaled the adoption of analytics and insights for SAP Marketing and Communications. In 2010, he built and led the advanced analytics and measurement practice as Group Director for Analytics for J. Walter Thompson (JWT), New York. Before his time at JWT, Nichols was Director of Database Marketing for SAP North America, and was the Business Intelligence Manager for Cisco Systems, Inc.
His cross-functional leadership has earned the Association of National Advertisers International ECHO Award, SiriusDecisions/Forrester Best Reputation Measurement Award, PR NEWS Award, US Effie and Germany Effie for Advertising Effectiveness, and the best use of social measurement award from the International Association for the Measurement and Evaluation of Communication.
He has a B.S and an M.S. in Mathematical Sciences/Statistics from Virginia Commonwealth University and lives in New York, NY.
